Upcoming District and Council Training Events (2008)
• Saturday, April 12, 2008 - Boy Scout Leader Training.
  Boy Scout Leader Training is for Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters, Troop Committee Members, and Webelos Leaders. Actually, any registered adult interested in the operation of a troop is welcomed to attend and participate. The course will be held at St. Timothy’s in Mandeville from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM. The topics are designed to help you learn how to run a troop and include: Getting Started - The Role of the SM in a Boy Lead Troop, the Outdoor and Advancement Programs, Program Planning, and Troop Administration.
• Tuesday, April 15, 2008 - New Leader Essentials. 6:30 pm at St. Timothy UMC Asbury Campus in the Lobby.
 

New Leader Essentials is all new scout leaders -- Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts or Venturing. New Leader Essentials is an introductory session that highlights the values, aims, history, funding, and methods of Scouting. It addresses how these aims and methods are reached in an age-appropriate style within Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, Varsity Scouting, and Venturing.

You should complete Fast Start Training and Youth Protection Training before attending this training (go to Online Training and follow the link to the BSA Online Training Center.)
• Thursday, April 17, 2008 - Cub Scout Leader Specific Training. 6:30 pm at St. Timothy UMC Asbury Campus in the Lobby.
  Cub Scout Leader Specific Training is for all leaders taking a new position in a Cub Scout Pack -- Cubmasters, Committee Members and Den Leaders (Tiger, Webelos and Cub Scout (Wolf and Bear)). The training is tailored for each position and their assistant(s).
